Ain't Laurent Without Yves

I hope you're ready for this one! Rather than showing you just one way that I chose to style a specific piece, this baby is jam packed with two. Try to contain your excitement! Anyway, I've had a deep obsession with YSL for years now, once I laid eyes upon those beautiful Goldstone Oval or Glass Arty rings I knew I had to own one. Fast forward a couple months and my dreams came true. I have been living in it ever since and I NEED to get my hands on another. I'm so obsessive over it and I usually keep it in the little YSL bag it came in when I'm not wearing it and any time I drop the little bag on the floor my puppy comes and takes it to another room with him, I guess he wanted to have something YSL, too.

Back to the clothes.. I've been intensely reading about the Yves Saint Laurent name split since the rumors first surfaced and it actually broke my heart! Not only did I fall in love with everything ever made but the name itself, it's so elegant and unique. If you have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about definitely read up on it to understand the meaning behind my shirt. As soon as this bad boy came in I had about ten outfits in my head for just about every occasion possible. Both of the ones below are pretty casual because I didn't have anything going on either of these days. Thigh highs immediately came to mind when I first saw this shirt which then lead to my favorite shorts from that little boutique in Long Branch. Since I don't have as many opportunities to break out my actual Lita's as I would like, I had to take advantage of this one. If you're hesitant to invest because they look intimidating to walk in I can personally say I would rather wear these than a pair of pumps.

I just checked back where I got my top and unfortunately the company sold out of them, luckily there are tons all over the internet! Since my Lita's are a bit older and not in stock anymore, I linked the plain ones that I swear by.

PART ll
Do you ever have one of those "please don't ask me to go out today because I do not feel like getting ready" days.. see below. Sometimes I have absolutely NO desire to do my hair and just want to give it a break from hot tools. I suppose it deserves it every once and a while. Luckily I only had to run to the mall for one item (imagine that) so I didn't mind my motivation toward hair brushing was at a negative 5. Luckily the whole sock bun thing is pretty easy. I use one of those foam circles, two of my extension's tracks, a couple of bobby pins and five minutes to get this look.

One of my favorite go-to outfits is denim on black. Weather it's a black dress, black leggings, black denim or black shorts I LOVE anything denim on top. My closet it home to over ten denim shirts, jackets and vests in just about every wash and with every type of embellishment. I've had this specific jacket for several years and it is perfectly broken in, I believe everyone should have one of their own. It's such a great staple piece to have in your wardrobe because of how versatile it is and how easily it goes with just about any outfit.

Skater Dress

The second I laid eyes on this dress I fell in love with every detail, especially the beautiful gold pattern. I’m such a sucker for a skater dress, too; I adore the girly fit and how comfortable they are. You could pair them with just about any type of shoe and never go wrong. The time difference between me pressing “submit order” and actually receiving the package felt like weeks even though it was only about two days, which is why I love ordering from Tobi. I know I’m not the only person who expects their package to magically fall from the ceiling a second after placing an order. Anyway, after waiting anxiously for my dress I finally got to put it on and it was absolutely perfect.I chose to pair the dress with the Michael Kors Haven booties I posted about a few weeks ago. I didn’t want to take away from the pattern of the dress with an extravagant shoe so I chose these because of how simple they are, even with the slight gold accents

As for my jacket, I know I keep wearing it and linking a jacket slightly different, but, I did purchase it about a year ago from PacSun. One thing I learned from working there for such a long time is that their in house brands re-create the same item each year and modify it to be more current. So, the one I’ve been linking is this year’s version. It’s definitely not thick enough to be a winter jacket, but, it is great for the fall and early spring

I tried to get my dogs in a couple of pictures but once I broke out their leashes and brought them outside they went crazy! They must have thought they were going to the park where my Mom takes them almost every day for a walk. You can see how restless they were below- I just HAD to post it for a good laugh.

Faux-Fur

One of my favorite things about the cold weather (there’s really only a couple because I hate being cold)  is faux-fur. Even though it’s not real, it’s still warm! I have so many faux-fur vests in just about every color and length, as well as TONS of jackets. This particular scarf is from H&M about a year ago. I know it doesn’t look like much but it keeps my neck nice and warm as well as my shoulders if I drape it over them as I did below. It has a clip on the inside that holds it in place if you choose to wear it around your neck. It looks super cute with an over sized knit sweater which has been my go-to way to wear it, but, I decided to switch it up. I think everyone should invest in at least one faux-fur item, whether it’s a vest, scarf or jacket, it’s such an easy way to dress up any outfit whether it’s just a pair of jeans during the day or something less casual for a night out.

Aztec & Fringe

I think I find too much joy in switching my clothes out for the season. As much of a hastle it is, there's nothing better than a wardrobe full of new clothes, especially since I love the fall, but who doesn't? I love opening up my storage bins and finding clothes I forgot I had or clothes I bought at the end of last fall for the next year. I only got to wear this cardigan a couple of times last year and to be honest I was on the fence about it when I first got it. It wasn't until I paired it with a dress and a pair of knee high boots that I fell in love. Since then it grew on me and recently I've been living in it.

What would an aztec patternen be with out some fringe? I bought these little black booties just about two years ago and wore then maybe five times before they got misplaced into the unknown. I'm still unsure as to why I let them sit in my closet for so long without even wearing them once (maybe it's because I'm a proud Mom of over 20+ pairs of booties and lost track of one of my children oops!) but since I found them I've been wearing them every chance I could. Since they're so comfortable I decided to embrace their comfort by wearing one of my easy go-to outfits which usually consists of high waisted bottoms and a crop top. I know I've said before how much I love pairing shorts with tights so if you haven't tried it yet, what are you waiting for? There's nothing better than being comfortable while stepping out of your every day comfort zone of wearing a pair of jeans.

Leopard Print Kimono

Another one of my guilty pleasures is leopard print and no one will ever be able to convince me it’s out of style. I hope I’m not the only one that has seen this kimono ALL over the internet. It literally haunted me for weeks until It magically appeared on my eBay sidebar, I feel like that constantly happens to me. Anyway, I found it and had to buy it, of course, because I always have to buy everything. When I saw it on tumblr, instagram, blogs, etc. I figured it had to be pretty expensive, I have never been so wrong. With shipping it came out to less than $15 which still blows my mind. I have so many outfits that I want to pair it with I cannot wait to show you guys.

I have a love/hate relationship with these pants. I found them online and they looked like a mix between American Apparel Riding & Disco pants so I decided to give them a try. I currently have them in two different sizes and neither one of them fit perfectly, I guess I’ll just invest in the real deal to avoid the struggle of wearing these ever again. I’m not sure if it’s my size or figure that makes them fit that way, but regardless, I definitely wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. Of course every outfit I wear is finished with a pair of booties. These happen to be the second pair I purchased from Target. What caught my eye is that they looked to be the same exact material as one of my Michael Kors bags. Not only did they have similar material, but the buckles on the shoes looked to be the same brushed or antique gold as the embellishments on my bag. It was a match made in accessory heaven and I was living in it. Typically a pair of booties like these goes for anywhere between $100 – several hundred dollars at Nordstrom or Neiman Marcus, so naturally I jumped at the opportunity and couldn’t get them in my cart fast enough.

Faux-Leather

I am finally a proud owner of a faux-leather vest (with studs, of course).  I've collected so many denim and faux-fur vests over the past couple of years and this was the only one missing from my wardrobe. Even though it's not real leather, it's still nice and warm and perfect for those days that are too hot for a jacket but too cold to not have an extra layer. I can't wait to wear it in the spring with a bralette underneath, unfortunately, that outfit will have to wait another six months.

I know I’m not the only one who walks out of Target with at least $100 worth of things that I didn’t even need, on top of forgetting the one item I did go in for. I went in for make-up remover and came out with two beautiful pairs of booties. I have honestly purchased some of the best shoes from Target and they always out –live the rest of my collection in the wear and tare department. I bought an adorable pair of gladiator sandals there one summer and they lasted me three years! Who would have thought Target would be so on-point in their shoe department? I always find less expensive versions of the most current trends that would typically cost $150+. Don’t forget to take a quick walk through the next time you stop in!

White Floral Skinnies

I can't tell you how long I've had these floral jeggings or skinnies and how little I've actually worn them. Good thing I chose to wear them after Labor Day when white pants are illegal. Who follows those rules anyway? They were definitely one of those "I HAVE to have those" pieces from work that ended up sitting in my drawer a little too long. I did wear them once with a peach crochet tank, but, when I went to look for it I realized I sold it. oops! At least my forgetfulness lead me to this gem; another one of those "I have to have it" pieces that ended up sitting in my closet waiting for its time to shine. This outfit was the result of a series of fortunate events: one great thing lead to another.. which also lead to these pointed toe nude pumps and I was ready in less than 10 minutes. Sometimes, outfit miracles do happen. My Mom actually picked these pumps up for herself and when she brought them home I knew I had to have a pair of my own and several days later, I did. I love everything about them and to top it off they're comfortable and easy to walk in.
