Acid Wash

One of my biggest and maybe most expensive obsessions is with high-waisted shorts, pants or anything for that matter. The acid-wash pair I'm wearing is from the same boutique as the lighter washed pair I wore to the Philadelphia Zoo. They have a little bit more spandex in them which makes them extremely comfortable. Since this particular day was not as warm as it has been for the month of September I was able to wear a pair of tights underneath which is one of my favorite outfit combinations. This is definitely one of the best ways to wear shorts throughout the fall/winter; I love not having to temporarily retire some of my summer clothes.

I'm sure you've noticed that I've been living in these booties lately but I just can't get over how comfortable they are, even with the slight heel. Since wearing  any of my work heels & wedges to a show would be impractical, I decided to throw these on to really put them to the test. Not only was I able to see a little bit more of the stage than I'm used to (which is usually just the top of everyone's heads), I was also a lot more comfortable than I thought I would be.

Society of Chic

I think this romper was a gift from above. I stumbled upon yet another great website and as I was scrolling through the first page, there it was. It's almost like it was waiting there for me AND it came in black so of course, it was mine in a matter of seconds. I was nervous about choosing between a small or x-small since it was my first time ordering and I don't know anyone personally who could vouch for their sizing, but when I tried it on I was convinced it was made for me.  The deep V is what sold me because it brought a little bit of a "sexy" edge to it. I knew I wouldn't be able to walk around during the day without any sort of bralette or cami underneath so I chose a vintage black lace bustier for this specific occasion.

As for my shoes, I firmly believe the "Lita" will always be in style, it will take a lot to convince me otherwise. The ones pictured aren't the original Jeffrey Campbell Lita (my JC's Litas are cross hatched and I didn't want it to take away from the lace in my romper) but they are equally as comfortable. I picked them up almost two years ago from Baker's for less than $100. I wanted to get something a little different than the original so I wouldn't have too many of the same shoe. Lately I've been finding similar versions almost everywhere! Although I do recommend investing in the real deal because of how comfortable and durable they are (and who wouldn't love to own a pair of Jeffrey Campbells?)  if you don't plan on wearing them too often you can definitely invest in any of the ones I've linked below for less than half the price.

Sabo Skirt

I came across the cutest website quite some time ago & since then I've made some of the best purchases. I fell in love with their bright, beautiful patterns as well as the feminine silhouette of all of their pieces. I couldn't help but pick up this blazer for work especially since it's so hard to find any that have both a great pattern AND fit. I love finding pieces like this that I can dress up for work or dress down for a trip to the mall.

After taking inventory of my fall work flats I realized I needed something a little bit different. After taking a trip to the mall and picking these gold toed ankle strap flats up, I was indifferent. I tried them on several times and even debated bringing them back to the store. One morning I was getting ready for work and of course chose to wear all black, I was looking in the mirror and felt that I needed something that would liven up my outfit. That's when I realized these HAD to stay in my life! I got so many compliments from the ladies at work and they were actually really comfortable. Since then I've been seeing the gold-toe trend everywhere and they can definitely dress up and add an extra pop to almost any outfit.

Envelope Skort

About a month ago I started seeing these, what I thought were skirts, all over the internet. After seeing so many pictures I decided to read a couple of posts & investigate- judging by the front I would have never guessed it was a skort! I haven't seen a skort in so long and anyone who grew up in the nineties knows that wearing a skort in elementary school meant that you could still look adorable and play kickball comfortably during recess. Of course I originally started my search for the perfect envelope skort with the intention of purchasing a white one, but when I found a black one too.. of course I bought both. The only downfall is the material, even after smoothing out all of the wrinkles with my steamer they seemed to reappear after I walked around for a little. Maybe I should start ironing..

Spiked Sneakers

After spending an entire week dressed up in heals and wedges, nothing feels better than putting on a pair of sneakers. At the same time, nothing is more of a struggle than finding an outfit to compliment a pair of sneakers especially since I'm not used to wearing them. But, that's nothing a pair of high waisted shorts can't fix. This particular pair I bought at a cute little boutique in Pier Village, Long Branch one morning before I went on the beach. The fit is absolutely perfect, so perfect that I even bought them in another wash.

I chose to pair my spiked high-top sneakers and high wasited shorts with a simple off the shoulder white crop top, an absolute necessity to my wardrobe. I've collected so many that I had to give them their own section in my closet, along with a small drawer in my dresser. You can pick them up in almost any store, some of my favorites are from American Apparel, Urban Outfitters, Arden B, Love Culture, Forever 21 & PacSun.

These photos were taken by my loving boyfriend who brought me to the Philadelphia Zoo. One of my absolute favorite places to be (besides the mall, of course) is the zoo, I have such a soft spot for animals I wish I could have taken them all home.

The Claw

I have been absolutely obsessed with pointed nails for over a year now and I couldn't imagine life without them. I started off with the standard square shape and after about a week I could not wait to get them taken off. It was nearly impossible for me to text, button buttons or even do my make-up. After another week went by I had a change of heart and decided to keep them on and just change the shape to the classic oval and after about a month I decided on "the claw".

I can honestly say that even after over a year of getting them done I still get equally as excited about freshening them up and picking out a new design. I am so fortunate to have a nail salon in my town that understands my style and is willing to spend the extra time on making them absolutely perfect.

My nails are all my own with a layer of gel over them to keep them strong & unbreakable. I was told that the gel is much lighter and less damaging to the actual nail than acrylic/crystal. However, it is recommended that you do get a brand new full set every couple of months.

Here are some of my absolute favorite designs and my journey from the baby claw to my current "Freddy Krueger" claw.

All designs were hand painted by Leena, Tracy, Trang or Theresea at T&T Nails.
