Little Black Maxi

I would be lying if I said there weren't already several all-black maxis in my collection but, this one was a must have. Bell sleeves and back detail, what more could a gal ask for? I'm always a bit skeptic to order maxis without trying them on because I'm so short, but I just had to have it so I didn't care if I had to get it hemmed. I previously purchased a swimsuit from my favorite fashion blogger's shop (here) and absolutely loved it so I knew this dress would be no different. I've been following her style for years now so it's hard for me to refrain from buying everything she picks out because it's all to die for. I'm still debating whether or not I'll get a few inches taken off the bottom because it's the perfect length with a pair of heels or wedges as-is.

I know this is a little off topic of my outfit, but for the past year I've been using the website EBates when I shop online so I figured I'd share a cool money making tip with you guys. It's completely free to sign up and you actually get money back for shopping online.. unreal, right? When you shop online all you have to do is log-in to your EBates account and pick the website off of their menu, once you find it, it will show you how much cash back you'll get from your purchase along with any promo codes or sales that store is having. Even though most websites are generally 2% cash back on a regular day, it definitely adds up! During most holidays stores will increase their % of cash back to sometimes 10% which is when you can really make back the big $$. I did ALL of my Christmas shopping online this past year and the check I just got from them was huge which is why I wanted to share this site with you all. If you think about it, you're getting paid to shop from home.. a dream come true. So, if you don't already have an account you can sign up HERE

Hot Pink Pumps

I swear that I am back in action and will post more than once a week. Getting a tattoo on top of an elbow injury wasn't exactly the best idea but now that I can finally dress myself, I'm back! In my previous post I mentioned that I got two more stacklace pieces from Xevana that went perfectly with the two pieces I already had. Each of the four pieces can be worn as an individual necklace or stacked with another and for this post I chose to stack all four since they give off a Dylanlex vibe when they're all together.

If you're as obsessed with statement necklaces as I am you can also check out my post on Vinted HERE, each of the pieces are linked below the pictures so you could find them easily.

I don't usually love colored pieces, or neon colored pieces for that matter, but these bright pink pumps stole my heart. I was amazed at how much they brightened up my mostly black outfit and how perfectly they matched my favorite pink lipstick (they also made me feel a little bit like a darker version of Barbie).

More Maroon

I didn't realize how many maroon colored pieces I've invested in lately until I started this post. Since I've also been on a pencil skirt kick since the end of the summer, this one was a must have. I absolutely loved the top Tobi paired it with online.. so of course I bought them both. I don't usually love the way some websites style their pieces but Tobi is always on point. I wore both of the pieces out together and let me tell you, it was heavenly to have an outfit already picked out for me when I was in a rush.

My Mom surprised me with another Xevana stacklace for Valentine's day and she somehow picked one that layers perfectly with my other set. Since they're all separates you can wear them alone or mix and match the pieces depending on your outfits and if my math is correct that's about 24 different necklaces (I just got really overwhelmed thinking about it). I obviously love the over the top and slightly gaudy look of huge layered necklaces and all four of the pieces together are just that, I can't wait to show you guys in the next post!

I was recently told that for some reason my comments don't show up below with my layout and I know it is a bit of a hassle to navigate through tumblr, so I made an ask.fm! It's definitely much easier to use and a lot easier for me to respond. So, if you have any questions feel free to ask them HERE

Maroon & Faux Leather

I know I've been slacking a bit on posts but I just have no desire to get out of my pajamas when it's 20 degrees and constantly snowing, especially with this recent elbow injury (I wonder if carrying around this giant bag has anything to do with it). But, I did have to go run a few errands so I quickly put on these black destroyed skinnies and one of my many black sweaters. I recently found all of my winter scarves in a box under my bed so I've been living in the one pictured below ever since, better late than never, right?

If you're thinking that this jacket looks very similar to the black one I have than you are correct I checked up on the site last week and it was on sale for such a great price I just couldn't say no. Am I the only one who has to buy something they like in every single color possible? I also figured it wouldn't hurt to incorporate a tiny bit of color into my wardrobe.. it also goes perfectly with my favorite lipstick & liner, what more could I ask for?

Leopard Print Trench

I've been so excited to share this post with you guys because it's a different & slightly creepy twist on my typical "outfit of the day" pictures and ramblings. Among the list of my very talented friends, Phong never fails to leave me speechless over his photography. Not only does he have one of the most creative minds I've ever had the privilege of working with, his ability to create a perfect shot so effortlessly is unreal.  So, we set off with his two rather old film cameras + a light meter and left the digital at home (I swear one of them was closet to 10lbs!).  After taking two non-digital photography courses in college and remembering how difficult they were for me, I was amazed to learn that he taught himself the entire film process and develops his rolls right at home.

You can check out all of his work here:

For the past month I've been searching for the perfect leopard trench and haven't had much luck. Of course, my professional shopper of a Mom found this one and surprised me with it about a week ago. As if the print wasn't everything I wanted, I swear it was made specifically for me or at least someone as short as me. It's not too heavy, but it's warm enough for a 30 degree with a layer or two underneath, but light enough to wear with a pair of jeans and flats or gladiator sandals. I love pieces that you can wear throughout different seasons, so worth the investment.

Patterned Pencil Skirt

I mentioned before that I was on a bit of a pencil or midi skirt/dress kick and this is one of my most recent purchases. I have tons of plain colored skirts so the slight pattern on this one is what sold me. I chose to pair it with some of my older items, which is one of my favorite things to do. It gives me a new found love for pieces that have been sitting in my closet for months and makes them feel new again. I chose this black bustier crop top I purchased over the summer because it was plain & didn't take away from the pattern in the skirt, plus I absolutely adore crop tops paired with pencil skirts..I have so many cute summery sets that I cannot wait to break out once it gets warmer. Since it was close to freezing I had to grab a bootie rather than a pump to keep warm, which lead me to these Jeffrey Campbell wedges I picked up last year. I will say that in comparison to my no-named brand wedge booties that are almost identical, these are SO much more comfortable and a lot easier to walk in once again proving my theory that it's worth spending a few extra dollars on staple pieces. Since I've been done growing for years now, I know they'll always fit which made my purchase a no brainer.

On another note, Valentine's day is coming up so with the help of a few of my favorite gentlemen, I put together a quick gift-guide that will hopefully spark a few ideas if you're still in need of a little inspiration. Since not all guys share the same exact interests, I chose a few with different hobbies & styles to show the relationship between what they like to do and what gifts they would appreciate most from their significant other. Check it out here!
