Floral & Fringe

_DSC0072

I must have worn this little floral top about ten times since I got it for my birthday and I finally had a few extra minutes to snap a few pictures for a post. My boyfriend's mom actually picked it out for me from a boutique down in LBI, did I mention how cute the shops are down there? So far, I've worn it with boyfriend jeans, high waisted shorts and of course my all-time favorite high waisted denim jeans which are featured in this post. I mean, this shirt may have been made for me.. it's floral, it's slightly cropped and has a gorgeous crochet back.. oh, and it also fits me perfectly!

Pops of Pink

DSC_0465

When I first got this dress I was a bit iffy on how to style it especially since colors aren't exactly my area of expertise. Naturally my first shoe choice was a classic nude pump which I knew would tone down the vibrant floral pattern. Since my first instinct is try to wash out any sort of colored piece by pairing it with something rather bland, I decided I should try something different. These hot pink Barbie looking pumps are so beautifully colored and possibly one of the brightest decorations in my room, so, I don't go a day without admiring their existence on my shoe rack. After staring in the mirror for quite some time debating on how to style this gorgeous dress, it hit me..

Another Black Dress

DSC_0420

yes, another black dress....

I know that I am a bit behind on posts this week but as I have mentioned a few times before, I am moving very soon and it is definitely time consuming and challenging to pack up all of my belongings. So far I must have over six boxes of shoes packed and I still have a few more to go. I don't mind packing as much as I thought I would because I know that I'll be in a brand new room when I unpack them, so it is kind of exciting in a sick and twisted way. My parent's visited the house a week or two ago and discovered some space to expand the closet in my room so it'll be a super walk-in, on top of that they found extra space to build me a second one. I almost shed a tear of joy or several hundred when they told me! I am still a bit speechless over the whole situation because this was definitely something I had been dreaming of for a very, very long time. Of course, a closet tour will be #1 on my "to-do" list once they are up and running. With that being said I have also been sitting on Pinterest looking up organizational ideas for my new square-footage and I'm sure you  know how Pinterest sucks you in to their vortex of home decor, hair inspiration and all things interesting... so that is also a contributing factor to my belated outfit post.

Hair Extension Review: Luxy, Bellami, Euronext & Keratin (U-Tip)

DSC_0144

As I'm sure you all know by now I have many years of hair extension experience under my belt. I've tried quite a few brands of clip-ins over the past five years which I will be reviewing below as well as answering any questions you've all had about the keratin bonds/ U-tip I tried out for the past 10 months. I really wanted to share my experiences with different brands and types of extensions because I feel that knowing what to look for, what weight is best for your hair and how they will hold up over time is extremely important. In order to really benefit from any type of extension- caring for them properly is extremely important and will really make your investment worthwhile and after about five years I feel that I really have the system down to a science, or my own at least.

Harley Crop

DSC_5856

I suppose you could call this the "lost outfit". I shot this before I left for my vacation and kind of forgot about it until today when I went to put on the shirt to wear out. I have been living in this reconstructed Harley tee since the day it came in. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of detail that was put into it, everything from the fit to the lace added around the neck is absolutely perfect. So far I've paired it with high waisted jeans, boyfriend jeans and destroyed denim shorts. This look particularly was the most interesting and so far my favorite. I chose a pair of my acid wash high rise denim shorts that I picked up last summer down the shore because they went with the black of the shirt and the grey of the studs in my boots. I wonder if I'm the only one who puts that much thought into a pair of shorts and boots?

Floral Bells Pt II

DSC_5895

I've been really obsessed with this pair of bells that I picked up from PacSun earlier this summer. I know I've already mentioned that I've styled them just about every way possible, but this combination was one of my favorites so I wanted to share it with you.  I've already styled them with a chunky platform and floppy hat in this blog post -> FloralBellsPtI so I wanted to do something a bit more casual, but still a bit dressy at the same time. I chose to stick with golds and tans for my accessories to try to brighten up the pants since I chose a white top over black as I usually do. I feel that using lighter pieces gave the pants a different and more boho look, which is the look I believe they're intended to have.  (Of course, I've been making them look more gothic and dark by pairing them with only black & dark lip colors)

CHICSHA: The Magazine, Issue III

I mentioned a few posts ago that I was asked to be featured in a magazine this summer- that magazine happens to be Issue III of CHICSHA.  I along with several other bloggers show our own take on a specific summer/fall trend. Inside the magazine you'll find all six of my outfits along with an event I felt each of the outfits was most appropriate for. The whole experience from picking out the outfits, to taking the pictures to seeing the final product was beyond exciting and I'm extremely pleased with how well everything came out.  Of course when it first came out I searched through every page to find myself (who wouldn't?) but since then I must have read it cover to cover over 10 times because of how beautifully everything came together and how interesting each of the articles and features are.
