Stripes & Lace

Now that I have officially finished celebrating my birthday, I think, I finally have a minute to put together a few posts consisting of all of the outfits I've worn this past week. I always joke that it's my "birthday week" and naturally everyone around me goes along with it because who doesn't love a reason to go out celebrate something, right? Of course, my dad, mom and sister are always the reason behind any sort of birthday festivity and even stayed up late to hang out during my party HAHA My friends definitely went out of their way to make sure I enjoyed myself.. more than a few times. There were quite a few rounds of karaoke and plenty of nights I only got a few hours of sleep only to continue where we left off the night (or morning) before. Thank you all of the beautiful and thoughtful people who came out to celebrate or reached out to wish me a happy birthday, you're all the light of my life

Back to what you came here for, the outfit.. 

Any celebration calls for a new outfit, at least in my mind.. and of course that outfit always falls into place last minute. After a dinner with my family,  I changed into this for a night out in Red Bank. (such a cute town and when you walk down the street just about everyone is dressed up which is something that I definitely appreciate.) I did have to bundle up a bit because it was less than sixty degrees and sort of rainy, but, if that was my only complaint.. life isn't so bad. I went with a classic pair of black ankle strap pumps that I ironically got for my birthday the year before. I kept the majority of my outfit simple because an a-line skirt is already a lot to take in, not to mention a striped a-line skirt. I will say that this specific style of skirt has become a favorite of mine recently, but, it is really easy to buy the wrong one. Personally, I like them with pleats for extra detail and made of a material that holds it shape so that it doesn't look like the skirt is wearing me rather than me wearing it.
