Houndstooth & Hot Pink

As I was walking through Macy's I decided to take a look at their winter sale to see if there was anything worth the purchase. This coat was the first thing to catch my eye and after looking at the price tag I almost died. Original retail was a little over $300, it was marked down to $200 with an extra % off from their winter end sale which brought it down to $150. Of course Macy's sends their coupons to my house by the truck load so I got an extra % - off which brought it down to just a little over $100. UNREAL! I thought it was too good to be true, but then when I found that they carried it in a petite small I knew it was meant to be. Usually just a "small" for me is still a little too long and un-proportional since I've remained the same size as I was in 8th grade.  So, with all things in my favor it HAD to be mine. Just another success story about winter-end sales, they're definitely worth the wait.

What are the odds I would have a bag & hat that almost matched perfectly? My Mom picked this up for me over the summer from a Coach outlet store because I was looking for a hot pink bag, she definitely nailed it!

The Midi Little Black Dress

Lately I'm obsessed with any sort of "midi" dress or skirt, so naturally I had to add an all black piece to my collection. Since I'm only 5 feet tall, finding "midi" dresses & skirts are a bit of a challenge because things are typically several inches longer on me than they are on most people. Thank the sweet fashion gods that Tobi really watches out for us vertically challenged ladies & made the length of this dress perfect. What I really love about it is the gold zipper & the small slit on the back (which of course I forgot to take a picture of), I'm a sucker for fine detail especially on a little black dress.

This could also been a quick and easy Valentine's Day outfit for anyone frantically searching for something to wear, you can never go wrong with black.

Maroon Faux-Fur Pt II

What better way to make up for your bad hair day with a giant hat, right? I don't know what it is about this time of year that makes my hair so disobedient, maybe it's too cold to function like me.

Since you've seen all of these pieces already I don't have much explaining to do so this one will be short, sweet & to the point. I tried to buy this sweater in white, I actually had it in my cart & almost made it to the check out before I thought "I need this black". So, since I couldn't bring myself to buy it in white to incorporate some color, or lack there of, into my life I chose my maroon faux-fur vest that I featured in a post a few months ago to make it a little less dark. If you want to see another way to wear it, that's also mostly all back pieces check here.

I also wanted to update you all on my Vinted journey in case you're still on the fence about making a closet of your own. I've had it for two weeks and already sold 6 pieces, I also have about 4 items on hold for girls who are waiting to buy them.  So, once you add all of that up.. it's a pretty good chunk of change to buy new clothes if you ask me. I've sold to Plato's closet several times and did get a good amount of money but they also took bags of items from me. So, when I weigh out my success stories.. Vinted definitely takes the cake, plus it's fun to meet new people who share taste similar to yours. Leave your username down below or on my tumblr (in the ask me anything section) so I can find you!

Head Chain Pt. II

I guess you can call this one a forgotten post. I must have skipped over these pictures in the midst of all my Vinted excitement. Since there's no trace of snow on the ground you can obviously tell it's from last week, oops!

I'm definitely over this freezing cold weather, every year around this time I start to see all the spring lines dropping and drool at my computer screen as I think about actually wearing the pieces. After a sad realization that I would have to wait a few more months, I decided to move on and try to get re-inspired by winter clothes. So, rather than throwing on my usual high waisted black pants, I went for something a little bit different- a maroon high waisted wide leg trouser type of different. Since these pants, along with many of it's kind only see the light of day when I'm at work, I thought that pairing them with something less business casual would be a nice change for both of us. Of course I used my usual faux-fur finishing touches and this head chain that I've been obsessed with, thanks again Mom!
